Cobourg Police Investigating a Commercial Break and Enter

Cobourg Police Service is investigating a commercial break and enter that occurred at a business on William Street in Cobourg.

On July 25, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at a property on William Street near University Avenue West. Upon arrival, police discovered that a hole had been cut into the bottom of a rear garage door, allowing entry into the premises.

A search of the interior confirmed that no individuals remained inside the premises.
The business owner attended the scene and determined that several items had been stolen. A full inventory is being conducted to identify all missing property.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information or video footage in the area is asked to contact the Cobourg Police Service at 905-372-6821. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip online at stopcrimehere.ca. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
