A man has been arrested as a result of an assault and subsequent drug investigation in the Town of Cobourg.
Previously the Cobourg Police Service reported that on Monday, August 30, 2021, at approximately 1:30 am,
police were dispatched to a residence in the area of Sutherland Crescent in response to a report of a
suspicious male with bruises and blood on his face knocking on doors in the area.
Upon arriving on scene, police located the male matching the provided description. The male advised police
that he was robbed after someone broke into his home. The male was transported by ambulance to the
hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
Through investigation, it was revealed that the male had not been robbed and that no one had broken into his home.
Police determined that he had, in fact, assaulted another individual with a weapon inside his residence.
The individual also required treatment at the hospital.
Police requested and were granted a search warrant for the suspect male’s residence. At approximately 6:50
pm, police executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence on Sutherland Crescent. Police located and
collected evidence of the assault and property belonging to the victim. Police seized 83 grams of Cocaine with
an estimated street value of $8,300 and $1,300 cash inside the residence.
An arrest warrant is being sought for the male, and once arrested his identity and further details regarding
charges will be provided.
Cobourg Police have cleared the scene in the area of Sutherland Crescent in the Town of Cobourg. The

Update (August 31, 2021, 11:30am)
On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, 20-year-old Cobourg resident Kaleb BELLOMO was arrested and charged with
the following offences:
Aggravated Assault – contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code
Assault with a weapon – contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
Obstructing a peace officer – contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of
the Criminal Code
BELLOMO was held for a bail hearing scheduled for later today.
