Anglers Return to the Ganaraska River in Port Hope

In Local

Anglers are once again returning to the Ganaraska River since Port Hope has once again allowed access to the river from Municipal property.

Municipality of Port Hope had restricted access to the river from municipal lands following the Provincial Emergency and Stay at Home Order.

But on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. access was once again allowed.

On Saturday a number of anglers were along the Ganaraska River.

Port Hope Police were reminding anglers that there is still a lockdown in place with strict guidelines.

Most anglers that police spoke with on Saturday along the river were residents from outside the area, mostly from the Toronto area.
