Peterborough County OPP – Successful Search for Lost Child

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called at approximately 10:00am this morning to assist in locating a lost three year old child.

The child had been playing with other children in a wooded area behind a residence on Highway 28 prior to becoming separated from the group. Members from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Canine Unit, Peterborough County OPP Detachment and Anishinabek Police Service (APS) – Curve Lake Detachment attended the scene to conduct a search.

At approximately 10:35am, the child was located in good condition and was transported out of the woods by members of the Peterborough County OPP.

Aviation Services was cancelled prior to their arrival.

The child was assessed by paramedics but did not require medical attention.
