Northumberland OPP – Seeking Witnesses to Roadside Assault

(MUNCIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) – The Major Crime Unit of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating an assault that was reported on August 12, 2020.

Between the hours of 9:00 pm on August 11, 2020 and 7:00 am on August 12, 2020, a white 4 door sedan was parked facing northbound on County Road 10 near the 7th Line between Welcome and Garden Hill. The driver of the sedan was pulled from the vehicle and assaulted.

The Northumberland OPP is appealing to the public for witnesses of this incident. Anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding this occurrence or that may have dash camera footage is asked to contact the Northumberland OPP detachment at (905) 372- 5421 or toll free at 1-888-310-1122.
