City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Man Charged with Second Degree Murder

On April 21, 2020, officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 9-1-1 call at a residence on Valley Road.

 

Officers located a deceased male outside of the residence. The victim has been identified as local resident, Glen MARK, 73 years of age.

 

With the assistance of the OPP’s Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT), a suspect was taken into custody. Richard BRACHMAN, 57 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, contrary to the Criminal Code.

 

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 22, 2020.

 

The investigation remains ongoing with members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
