Update – Durham Police – Fire Investigation in Clarington

Investigators are looking for information and video footage that would assist in a fire investigation at an apple orchard in Clarington Sunday morning.

On Sunday, April 12, 2020, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Clarington Fire Services and members of East Division were dispatched to a large fire at the Algoma Orchards on Darlington Clarke Townline in Clarington. The premise sustained extensive damage with an estimated loss of over six million dollars. No one was physically hurt as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking the public for any video of the incident that would assist them.

Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Hilliard of the East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1657.
