Cobourg Fire Fighter’s Association Donates Movie Proceeds to Wounded Warriors Canada

Members of the Cobourg Fire Fighter’s Association presented a cheque for $1,000 to Wounded Warrors Canada on Friday, January 31, 2020.

In the photo are, Deputy Chief Gene Thompson (left), Wounded Warriors Canada Director of Partnerships and Events Steve Topham, Captain Kevin Schroeder and part-time firefighter Jack Dillon.

Other firefighters on the set that donated were firefighter Sorab Bulsara and firefighter Steve Koomen.

The money donated to Wounded Warriors Canada were the wages of the firefighters while on the set of the new Netflix series, Ginny and Georgia, which filmed in Cobourg this past summer.

Wounded Warriors Canada is pleased to accept a $1,000 donation from the Cobourg Fire Fighters Association. The donation will be directed to their PTSD Service Dog Program. The Wounded Warriors Canada PTSD Service Dog Program provides funding to support the training of approximately 100 dogs per year. The positive impact the PTSD service dogs have on the lives of an ill/injured member and his or her family is profound.

Wounded Warriors Canada is a national mental health service provider, utilizing clinical best practices and evidence-based care to create an environment of compassion, resiliency and hope for Canada’s Veterans, First Responders and their families.
