Peterborough County OPP – Bag Containing Organ Found In Eels Creek

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a suspicious plastic bag floating in Eels Creek just south of Northey’s Bay Road on August 5, 2019, around 6:15 p.m.

A hiker located a plastic bag floating in the creek with what appeared to be a human organ. Officers attended the area and retrieved the bag. The unidentified item w as taken to a local hospital where it was determined to be a human placenta. Foul play is not suspected.

Police are looking for the origins of this placenta and are asking anyone with information to contact the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit at 705 742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
