Danby Appliances Looking to Hire for New Cobourg Plant

In Upcoming Events

The joint venture with Horizon Plastics will bring approximately 10 new jobs to the area

Danby Appliances will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, December 5th from 10am – 6pm at Venture13, 739 D’Arcy St, Cobourg, ON.

Danby is seeking people to join their team in the new operational site in Cobourg, Ontario. This operation is day shift, light manufacturing, and will function inside Horizon Plastics’ complex in the Northam Industrial Park. Opening in 2019, this will be the site of assembly for Danby’s new smart home product – Parcel Guard. This is the appliance company’s first venture into smart technology that will make traditional mailboxes a thing of the past.

Danby has been in business for over 70 years and is excited to expand with their new Cobourg plant. “We believe that it’s not just a job, it’s a career,” says Adam DeBuck, Human Resource Advisor at Danby Appliances. “It is important that a company not only believes in their values, but does their best to live them out every day.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Danby Appliances to Cobourg in their joint venture with Horizon Plastics,” remarked Mayor John Henderson, Town of Cobourg. “The creation of these new jobs will help boost our economy and I encourage anyone interested in exploring a potential employment opportunity to head over to the job fair this Wednesday, held at our very own innovation and entrepreneurship centre, Venture13.”

“Horizon Plastics is a valued supplier for the new Danby product, but is not entering into a partnership. Danby will be operating separately within the complex to assemble their new smart mailbox.”
