Inaugural Northumberland Classic Road Race Hits the Streets of Hamilton Township Over the Weekend

The inaugural Northumberland Classic Road Race was a success in its first year in Hamilton Township on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
From the starting race at 8:30 a.m. riders took a 16.5 loop along with a three kilometre out and back from the start of the Baltimore Recreation Centre.
It is the longest and toughest climb in the Ontario Cup Series.
The competitors travelled from Barrie to Hamilton and beyond to compete in the event that consisted of a 225 metre climb on Northumberland Heights Road and through the rolling hills of Northumberland.
It was anticipated that over 400 provincial, national and international cyclists would take part in the event.
