Transition House Remains Closed in Cobourg

The investigation at Transition House is continuing by the Ministry of Labour.
The Ministry of Labour said on December 7, 2017 they were notified of an “incident” at Transition House Coalition of Northumberland in Cobourg.
It was reported that on December 5, 2017 a worker sustained an injury as a result of an interaction with a patient.
An MOL inspector attended on December 7, 2017 and issued the following to the employer, Transition House Emergency Shelter:
o Two orders for training; and,
o One order for a risk assessment (complied with)
The MOL investigation is ongoing and as of February 16, 2018, the two orders for training remain outstanding.
A sign on the door of Transition House says it is “temporarily closed” and if anyone requires assistance to contact Cobourg Police.
The note ends by stating “we are sorry for any inconvenience.”
