Northumberland Plowing Match Takes Place in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

The Northumberland Plowing Match took place on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Alnwick/Haldimand Township.

The event has been taking place for close to 40 years and this year was held at the Carruthers farm off of County Road 2 west of Grafton.

Farmers come from Gravenhurst, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Peterborough, Belleville and Stirling to take part in the competition that is based on points.

The oldest competitor was 95-years-old and there was also a competitor that was a retired TTC driver.

Winners with the highest points go to the next level which is a competition in Laurel, in Dufferin County.
