Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s shelter has been significantly improved, thanks to the recent $2,485 donation from the Retired Teachers of Ontario District 30 Northumberland through their Community Grant Program.

These funds purchased a new dishwasher, microwave range hood and pots-and-pans sets for the kitchen, which was recently renovated.

We were thrilled to receive a Community Grant from the Retired Teachers of Ontario,” Cornerstone Executive Director Nancy Johnston said in the announcement.

Grants like these are essential in helping Cornerstone recover from the pandemic, and accommodate the needs of the many women and children who need our support each year.”

District 30 member Charlotte Magic reiterated the group’s enthusiastic support for community organizations like Cornerstone.

We know the significant impact Cornerstone has on the communities they serve, and are happy to be a part of helping to make that work possible.”
