The Town of Cobourg is inviting residents’ input and feedback on its draft 2022 municipal Operating and Capital Budget documents that are now posted on-line.

The town stresses that these documents represent the first phase of the budget process, and are not considered final until approved at council’s regular meeting of Dec. 13.

View the draft budgets on the town’s website (www.cobourg.ca/budget). Feedback and input can be offered through the town’s public-engagement platform Engage Cobourg (www.engagecobourg.ca) before a deadline of Friday, Nov. 5.

In the announcement, Deputy Mayor Suzanne Seguin strongly encouraged residents and business owners to provide feedback in time for the Special Budget Council Session in November.

“As we prepare to re-establish priority services coming out of the pandemic, we will also be focusing on our core values while containing costs and implementing best practices,” Seguin said.

“Town staff are working hard to establish departmental priorities while continuing to deliver on the services that matter most to taxpayers.”

You can tune in to watch that Special Budget Council Session Thursday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., an opportunity for council to review and discuss the draft budget in its entirety. The agenda and livestream video are available at www.cobourg.ca/escribe.
