Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Theft

On the morning of March 7, 2021, police were dispatched to an address downtown Cobourg after reports of a man stealing a bicycle and fleeing the scene. Police searched the area and located the man with the stolen
property. The man was arrested at this time. Further investigation revealed the man was wanted on two outstanding warrants held by the Cobourg Police Service.
As a result, 47-year-old Grant HOOPER of Cobourg is charged with the following:

Theft under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code x2

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code x 2

· Fail to comply with a probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code x7
HOOPER was released from police custody on an undertaking with a future court date.
