Northumberland OPP – OPP Assist With Stranded Boater on Lake Ontario

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On the 5th of August 2020, at approximately 11:20 am, marine unit members of the Northumberland and Quinte west detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the Brighton Auxiliary Coast Guard, received a request for assistance from the operator of a vessel that had become stuck on a sandbar off of Presquile Provincial Park.

The stricken vessel was located, and with the combined efforts of the respond ing officers, the vessel was successfully removed and escorted back to the Brighton harbour, where the operator could safely inspect the craft.
