Northumberland OPP – Body Identified As Missing Woman

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – On Saturday April 11, 2020 at approximately 10:30 am, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to information that a body of an unidentified female had been discovered in the water near the shore line between lock 9 and lock 10 of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit with the assistance of the Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) investigated the incident.

A post mortem examination was conducted and the body has been confirmed to be that of 25 year-old Nakita Hamilton – Armstrong who was reported missing from the Campbellford area on March 1, 2020.

The Northumberland OPP wish to thank the public for their continued support and ongoing assistance with these types of investigations.
