A 57-year-old Cobourg man has been charged following a dog bite incident in Cobourg.
On September 1, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Elgin Street West and William Street after receiving a report that a dog had bitten an adult. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Through the investigation, police identified the dog’s owner and determined there had been previous documented incidents involving the animal.
As a result of the police investigation, on September 3, 2026, a 57-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm.
Police and Municipal Law Enforcement officers continue to work to locate the dog, a large white Dogo Argentino.
