TIME:                 9:30 AM

ISSUED TO:      Municipalities (Alnwick/Haldimand, Cramahe, Brighton & Quinte West)), Northumberland & Hastings Counties, Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry, Media, Health Units, Emergency Response Agencies

MESSAGE #:   LTC – 18 – 05                                          Valid until Thursday, April 5, 2018

Lower Trent Conservation advises municipalities and the public that a Flood Outlook Statement has been issued for the Lake Ontario and Bay of Quinte shoreline from Grafton to Quinte West.

A sharp artic cold front is forecast to move through the region today. Very strong southwest winds are developing quickly with a forecast for winds of 80 to 100 km/h. These winds may cause wave action to reach heights of 1.5 to 2 metres this afternoon into this evening. Winds will gradually begin to diminish this evening.

Residents should ensure personal property (boats, docks, etc.) along the shoreline is secured and beware of the potential for erosion and flooding due to high waves.

Lower Trent Conservation will be monitoring marine forecasts closely and will provide updates as conditions warrant.  Anyone who experiences flooding or erosion problems should contact Lower Trent Conservation at (613) 394-4829.
