Cobourg Police – Distraction Theft

In a recent report received on June 18, a 76-year-old woman reported being approached by a woman in a retail store asking for assistance with clothing.

At the same time, a man went into her purse and stole her wallet.

The victim did not realize the wallet was missing until she went to pay for her merchandise.

The investigation is ongoingAnyone with information is asked to call the police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS.
