OPP – Deborah Silverman’s Body Recovered 40 Years Ago Today

(ORILLIA, ON) – Investigators with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) believe there are people who have information to resolve a 40-year-old homicide investigation.

After spending Friday evening socializing with a group of co-workers, 21-year-old Deborah SILVERMAN was last seen in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12, 1978 in the City of Toronto. Deborah had driven her own vehicle, which was subsequently located in the parking lot at her apartment building on Bathurst Street. Three months later — on Sunday, November 12, 1978 — Deborah’s body was located on a property on Con cession 2 of Brock Township, southeast of the community of Sunderland, in what is now Durham Region.

A $50,000 reward continues to be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for murdering Deborah Silverman.
