An apartment building in Port Hope was without power for most of the night starting on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
The power went out at the apartment building located at 155 Toronto Road shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday and although crews responded quickly, the power was out for several hours.
One worker told Today’s Northumberland they were hopefully getting a large generator to the scene by 3 a.m.
At approximately 10 p.m. Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to the building to help a elderly resident get to her fifth floor apartment.
The resident was placed on a backboard and firefighters took her up the stairs to her apartment.
It’s unknown when the power was restored.
