Get ready, Northumberland! One of the most anticipated events of the season is back. Hike, Bike, and Bark for Hospice returns to Victoria Park in Cobourg on Sunday, September 28, 2025, and promises to be a day full of energy, remembrance, and community spirit.

Following a record-breaking year in 2024, where over $77,000 was raised, Hike, Bike, and Bark for Hospice has solidified its place as a marquee fall fundraiser in Northumberland County. Every dollar raised helps the care teams at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre provide essential services such as Volunteer Hospice support, In-Home Visiting Hospice, Education, Grief and Bereavement, Counselling, and end-of-life care in their 10-suite hospice residence – all offered free of charge to the families they serve.

Pre-registration opens on Monday, August 11, and with the newly updated website at hikebikebarkforhospice.ca, signing up is easier than ever. Anyone who registers between August 11 and August 31 will automatically have a chance to win one of three exclusive Early Bird prize packs.

Participants can register online as individuals, create a new team, or join an existing one. Each registrant will have access to a personalized dashboard to track donations, monitor fundraising progress, and share their journey on social media using built-in tools and custom graphics. And back by popular demand is the friendly leaderboard competition, where fundraisers can compete for the titles of Top Individual Fundraiser and Top Fundraising Team.

Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one, cycling for a cause, or just enjoying a day out with your four-legged friend, there’s a route for everyone. Choose from 2k, 5k, or 10k options. Kids under 12 and dogs participate for free, while individuals (13+) can register for just $30, which includes an official event t-shirt and race kit.

“This event is all about coming together to honour, to support, and to make a difference,” said Trish Baird, CEO of Community Care Northumberland. “Every dollar raised helps ensure Ed’s House can continue providing exceptional, compassionate hospice care across the county.”

Event sponsorship opportunities are still available! Local businesses, organizations, and community partners are warmly invited to support this meaningful event and join the hospice donor community. To learn more about sponsorship packages or to share your personal hospice story as part of this year’s campaign, please contact Kristin Andrews at k.andrews@commcare.ca or call 905-885-0466.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of a truly meaningful movement. Every step, pedal, and wag makes a difference!
