Exclusive – Two Suspects In Custody Following Armed Robbery In Brighton Earlier This Week

Exclusive – Two suspects appeared in Cobourg Court facing charges stemming from a armed robbery in Brighton earlier this week.
On Monday, September 10, 2018 at 2:04pm, two armed male suspects entered the rear of the store and approached the pharmacy counter demanding drugs. The suspects then exited through the same rear door with the stolen drugs.
Northumberland OPP canvased the area and a hold and secure was put on area schools but there was no sign of the suspects.
On September 12, 2018 Northumberland OPP Crime Unit working with OPP Quinte-West Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Quinte West.
Two suspects were arrested and held for bail in Cobourg Court.
On Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., the two suspects wearing handcuffs and leg irons the appeared in Cobourg Court.
Dale Woodall from Quinte West is charged with armed robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, fail to comply with probation and weapons dangerous.
Hubert Pollard from Quinte West is also charged with armed robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, fail to comply with probation and weapons dangerous.
Both men had their bail hearings put over till September 27 where they will appear by video.

Ontario Provincial Police just issued a release

(BRIGHTON, ON) –   On September 10, 2018 officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery in progress at the Rexall PharmaPlus, located at 1 Main Street in Brighton.

Initial investigation indicated that two males attended the pharmacy section of the store where they brandished what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded drugs. The OPP’s Forensic Identification Unit and Northumberland Crime Unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by members of the Northumberland Crime Unit, and with the assistance of the East Community Street Crime Unit, two suspects were identified. On September 12, 2018 the males were located and taken into custody, with the assistance of the OPP’s Tactical Response Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), as well as the Central and East Community Street Crime Units (CSCU).

Hubert Pollard, 39 years of age, of Quinte West, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Armed Robbery, contrary to section 343(d) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon, contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code
  • Use of Imitation Firearm, contrary to section 85(2)(a), of the Criminal Code
  • 4 counts of Fail to Comply, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

 

Dale Woodall, 55 years of age, of Quinte West, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

•          Armed Robbery, contrary to section 343(d) of the Criminal Code

•          Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5 000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

•          Possession of a Weapon, contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code

•          Use of Imitation Firearm, contrary to section 85(2)(a), of the Criminal Code

•          2 counts of Fail to Comply, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

The accused parties were held for a bail hearing to be held September 13, 2018.
