Port Hope Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired (No Name Released)

A 45-year-old Cobourg male was arrested and charged for Impaired Driving and Possession of over 30g of Dried cannabis after a traffic stop was initiated for driving with improper rear lights.

On October 24th, while on general patrol, officers witnessed a vehicle driving without rear lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver’s side window. The officer immediately noticed two large bins in the back seat, full of dried cannabis. The driver showed obvious signs of impairment.

As a result of an investigation, the male was charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration – 80 Plus and Possession of over 30g Dried Cannabis.

The male was released on an undertaking and was also issued two Summons for Drive without Proper Rear Light and Driving While Under Suspension
