Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a youth with multiple offences.
On July 8, 2024, at approximately, 1:15 p.m., police responded to a call for service regarding an assault at a residence in Hamilton Township. Officers arrived and arrested a 14-year-old male as a result of the investigation. There were no injuries reported to police.
The individual, who cannot be named due to the provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was charged with:
– Assault with a weapon
– Intimidation – use or threatens violence
– Mischief – destroys or damages property.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
