Port Hope Police – Incidents Include Mischief, Criminal Harassment, Theft (No Names Released)

Mischief/Criminal Harassment

A 46-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with mischief after he attempted to kick in the door of his ex-partner.

On June 29th, 2024, the accused arrived at the victim’s residence and proceeded to knock, then kick at the residence door.  The victim’s daughter phoned the Police, who witnessed the accused kicking the front door upon arrival.

As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000 and Criminal Harassment.

 

Theft/Possession of Schedule I Substance

A 56-year-old Port Hope Male and a 50-year-old Cobourg male were both charged with theft after Police were called to a Peter Street business with reports that the two men stole merchandise.

On June 30th, 2024, Police received a report from the store employee that staff witnessed the two men leave with an item that wasn’t paid for. The two men were later tracked down and as a result, the Cobourg male was charged with Theft under $5,000. The Port Hope male was charged with Theft under $5,000 and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
