Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include RIDE Program and Florida Man Charged with Impaired Driving (Name Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 85 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 16, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 17, 2024.

RIDE Program
On the 16th of April between 9:00pm and 10:00pm, Belleville police officers conducted a RIDE program in Thurlow. Fifty vehicles were checked. There were no charges or reportable incidents.

Speeding vehicle leads to Impaired Driving charges
On the 17th of April at 1:33am, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of Speed on Dundas St. The officer stopped the vehicle on Church St. near Bridge St. As a result of the roadside investigation, the officer arrested the driver for impaired driving. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service for further investigation. As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Juan Caicedo of Florida was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.
