A coordinated multi-unit drug trafficking investigation has led to 13 individuals facing 74 charges after significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine were seized across eastern Ontario.
In February 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an intelligence-led investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the communities of Bancroft and Trenton.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, eight search warrants were executed at residences located in Trenton, Belleville, Bancroft and Toronto by members from:

As a result of the investigation, the following items were seized with approximate quantities:
· 270 g suspected fentanyl
· 315 g crystal methamphetamine
· 10 g suspected cocaine
· A quantity of opioid pills
· 12 cell phones
· Electric scooters
· Two e-bikes
· Air pistol
· Prohibited knife
Illicit fentanyl can be imported from other source countries or domestically produced with precursor chemicals in clandestine laboratories. Methamphetamine seized in recent OPP investigations originates from multiple sources. As a synthetic drug produced only through illegal means, it is either manufactured domestically in clandestine labs using precursor chemicals or imported from other countries. Investigation into the source of the fentanyl and methamphetamine are ongoing, with evidence indicating they were intended for domestic distribution. The OPP continues to target the production and distribution of illicit drugs, restricting precursor supply and dismantling criminal networks.
