Half-Load Restrictions in Effect Starting March 2 in Cobourg

In City Hall, Local

Commercial vehicles will be restricted to half-loads on designated streets within the Town of Cobourg starting on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Half-load restrictions help protect roadways during the spring thaw, when pavement structures experience reduced load-bearing capacity due to freeze-thaw conditions.

Half-load restrictions will be enforced and signed at the following locations:

• Danforth Road – starting 1km East of Parkview Hills to Jarvis Road

• Jarvis Road – Danforth Road to Elgin Street East

• Stanton Road – south of Elgin Street East to dead end

• Elgin Street East – Jarvis Road to Brook Road North

• Workman Road – County Road 2 to Elgin Street East

• Greer Road – Elgin Street East to Danforth Road

Half-load restrictions will remain in place until the half-load signs are removed in mid- to late April, weather dependent. Please contact the Roads department with any questions, by calling 905-372-9971.
