Cobourg Fire Department Responds Cobourg Police Station for Reports of a Structure Fire

Cobourg Fire Department were called to the Cobourg Police Station on Monday, January 19, 2026 for reports of a fire in the cell area at the police station located at 107 King Street West.

Cobourg Fire Department responded at approximately 3 p.m. and were advised the fire was in the area of the cells and the area had been evacuated.

Fire crews arriving on scene indicated there was no fire, but a “haze” in the building.

There was no evidence of an actual fire, but crews searched throughout the cell block area including the roof for any signs of fire.

It was determined wires were burnt in a motor unit on the roof of the cells and there was no actual fire.

Fire crews cleared the scene at approximately 4 p.m.
