Durham Region Police – Five in Custody After Armed Robbery at Oshawa Centre

Four male youth and one adult male are in custody after an armed robbery at a jewelry store in the Oshawa Centre.

Three of the suspects arrested were out on release orders from previous incidents.

Of those three, two are young offenders. Those two young offenders are currently before the courts for previous robbery charges.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at approximately 10:55 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed robbery call at Paris Jewellers in the Oshawa Centre located at 419 King Street West. Four males entered the business and smashed display cases with hammers and a pickaxe.

The suspects stole jewelry before fleeing the area in a waiting SUV being driven by a fifth suspect.

The vehicle was tracked along Highway 401 into Ajax, where the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, searched the area and took all five suspects into custody.

No employees suffered any physical injuries.

Ahnaf SAMI, age 19 from Toronto is charged with: Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Weapons Dangerous, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2.

A 13-year-old male from Toronto is charged with: Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Weapons Dangerous, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2.

A 15-year-old male from Toronto is charged with: Robbery, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Drive – No Licence, Fail to Remain, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2.

A 17-year-old male from Toronto is charged with: Robbery, Disguise with Intent, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2.

All suspects were held for a bail hearing.
