Construction Notice – Victoria Hall Accessible Door Upgrade

Town Customer Service staff taking it to the streets to meet with community members The Town of Cobourg would like to notify the public of upcoming construction to improve the accessibility of the Victoria Hall main doors.

On Thursday, October 2, contractors will be working on the main doors of Victoria Hall, performing accessible upgrades and door maintenance. Work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be completed within one business day.

During this time the front doors of Victoria Hall will be out of service. To ensure the Town of Cobourg can continue to support members of the public, Customer Service staff will be setting up tables in front of Victoria Hall. Further, staff will be speaking with community members on the street regarding the ongoing Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and encouraging members of the public to provide their input on this important strategy.

Those who require access to Victoria Hall will be able to use the east and west entrances on October 2. Customer Service staff will also assist in directing members of the public who require access to Town departments and services.

About the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan 2026-2030 (MYAP)

The Town of Cobourg is committed to providing accessible public services, information, and programs. The MYAP for 2026-2030 will outline how we will continue to remove and prevent accessibility barriers, and community input is a key to success.

Everyone who lives, works, or visits the Town of Cobourg is encouraged to share their feedback through the MYAP survey available on the Town of Cobourg community engagement platform, EngageCobourg.ca. The survey deadline has been extended to Thursday, October 2,
at 11:59 p.m.
