On September 23, 2025, Cameco Fuel Manufacturing (CFM) conducted a full-scale emergency exercise at its Port Hope facility. This planned exercise was part of CFM’s ongoing commitment to safety and system readiness.

The exercise involved Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services as part of a coordinated effort.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered an area of the facility that was filled with simulated smoke.

Firefighters performed a number of rescues along with extinguishing a simulated flame

Cameco performs planned emergency exercises and holds regular consultations with local emergency services as part of our commitment to the continuous improvement of our emergency planning and preparedness program.
