Today’s Northumberland has looked further into the possible delayed response by emergency services regarding a vehicle that collided with a bus earlier this week.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, a bus with 25 students on board was traveling east on Forest Hill Drive in Hamilton Township.

A collision occurred when a vehicle exited a private driveway and struck the bus.

Northumberland OPP first received report of the collision at 9:12 a.m.

Because the initial report indicated there were no injuries, no other emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

Shortly after Northumberland OPP arrived on scene it was determined that even though there were no obvious signs of injury, all of the students including the driving should be assessed and at that time paramedics were dispatched at 9:32 a.m. and fire dispatched at 9:34 a.m.

Northumberland County has stated that two minors and one adult were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 65-year-old man from Hamilton Township was charged with careless driving.
