Northumberland OPP – Suspects Charged After Warrant Executed in Cobourg (Names Released)

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

In July 2026, the CSCU began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in Northumberland County.

On August 12, 2026, police arrested two individuals in Cobourg. At the time of the arrests, officers seized approximately 15 grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of Canadian currency.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence in Cobourg under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). As a result, officers seized approximately:
250 grams of cocaine Drug trafficking paraphernalia

The combined quantity of suspected cocaine seized has an estimated street value of approximately $21,000. Officers also seized Canadian currency and cellular phones.

Chelsea WARNER (38) of Cobourg, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Marc KINACH (55) of Cobourg, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.
