Transition House Announces Leadership Change – Ike Nwibe Leaving the Organization

In Local

The Board of Directors of Transition House is informing the community of an upcoming leadership change for the organization. Executive Director Ike Nwibe will be leaving the organization to pursue a new opportunity, with his last day being September 19.

“We are so grateful for the expertise and leadership that Ike has brought to our organization,”
says Board Chair Meaghan Macdonald. “Over the last almost two years, Ike has served the clients,
staff and volunteers at Transition House, along with the surrounding community, with deep
commitment, unwavering integrity, and tremendous heart. We know he will carry his incredible
work ethic and passion with him to his new role and we wish him all the best.”

Transition House is currently facing a period of change. In addition to this leadership change, the
organization is working to implement a new model for service delivery at 310 Division Street
approved by Northumberland County Council in August.

To guide the organization through this critical time, Transition House has engaged Christian
Harvey to serve as the interim Executive Director of the organization for a period of up to six
months. Christian has committed his professional life to supporting individuals who are
unhoused. He brings with him extensive experience operating sheltering services in the City of
Peterborough where he was most recently the Executive Director of One City Peterborough.

Christian’s leadership and expertise will help the organization develop the framework and culture
to effectively and successfully implement the new model of service at 310 Division Street.

The Board of Directors of Transition House is truly grateful for Ike Nwibe’s years of service. We
are confident that under Christian’s leadership as Interim Executive Director, the organization
will remain well-supported as we move through this important period of transition. During this
time the Board will have an opportunity to consider the strategic direction and path forward for
the organization, which will include recruiting a permanent Executive Director.
