Video – Photo Gallery – What A Difference A Day Makes in the Weather

In Local, Photo Gallery, Weather

In less than 24-hours it looks like we’ve gone from above freezing temperatures with fog blanketing the area to up another 10 centimetres of the white stuff.

A gathering place this winter seems to be on the east pier as locals and people visiting the area seem mesmerized by what is being called an ice volcano creating by pounding waves shooting skyward and the water freezing.

Thanks to a tradition Canadian winter, the formation hasn’t been this high in recent memory.

Both the east pier and the west breakwall are amazing spots to take in the last bit of sunlight for the day.

On Tuesday evening, thick fog descended on the area at times making it difficult to see.

Skaters are still enjoying the Rotary Harbourfront Rink with Christmas lights embracing the area.
