In Local

Cobourg Fire Department was a bit held up responding to a call on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Firefighters responded to an alarm call for a carbon monoxide detector sounding at a residence on Springbrook Road.

When fire crews turned onto Springbrook Road from Coverdale Avenue, there were vehicles parked on both sides on the road for a Open House which, temporarily blocked the response of fire crews..

Once on site, high readings were detected in the home and one person was assessed by paramedic crews.

Enbridge Gas were called to the residence to determine the cause.
