The Northumberland Physician Recruitment Advisory Committee may soon be able to announce another recruit.
This was the message at county council’s Community Health Committee meeting from Director of Health and Human Services Glenn Dees in a verbal update.
A formal announcement can be expected soon, Dees said, on “an offer to an individual who has accepted,” at a time when they can make it part of a larger announcement of the members of the recruitment committee.
“We are awaiting Port Hope’s nomination,” he said.
Committee Chair Olena Hankivsky said Port Hope will soon be addressing this issue at a council meeting.
“We should be poised in the next week or two to announce that formally,” Dees stated.
Correspondence before the committee confirmed representatives from the other six municipalities – Councillor Greg Booth from the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand, Councillor Anne Butwell from the Municipality of Brighton, Councillor Randy Barber from the Town of Cobourg, Spencer Coburn from the Township of Cramahe (with Ben Walker as alternate), Robert Gibson from the Township of Hamilton, and Councillor Daniel Gidding from the Municipality of Trent Hills.
