Criminal Harassment Arrest

A 14-year-old Peterborough male is facing a charge of criminal harassment after an incident.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, officers responded to a call for service about a neighbour dispute. Upon arrival, they learned that over the past few days a male had been yelling racial slurs at the victims.  This was not the youth’s first interaction with police in connection with this type of behaviour.

As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment

The accused was released on a youth undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 22, 2025.

As there is a hate crime element to this case and it will be addressed as the case moves through the court process.

 

Theft Under Arrest

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing over a dozen charges in connection with theft from their employer.

Officers with the Community FIRST Unit were made aware of the situation and started an investigation into the incidents which happened between February and May 2025 at a business on Chemong Road.

Through investigation it was determined that the employee was not scanning all the items.  In total, the store lost around $600.

As a result, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X17

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, August 13, 2025.
