In Police Blotter

Four days after numerous vehicles were entered in Cobourg’s west end, Cobourg Police have issued a press release.

Social media on Tuesday indicated vehicles had been entered including a photo of at least one vehicle that had their window broken to gain entry.

On Friday, August 8, 2025, police issued a released about the incident that happened sometime overnight on Monday, August 4th.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, police received a report in the area of Caddy Drive and Wilkins Gate in Cobourg. The homeowner found that their vehicle window was smashed. A bag appeared to have been rummaged through, but nothing was taken from the vehicle. While officers were canvassing for witnesses and video, they located another vehicle with a door ajar in the same area.  An engine control module was reported missing.

Police were later called to the area of Carlisle Street for another theft from a vehicle.  The complainant advised their driver’s licence and bank cards had been taken.

The investigation is ongoing.
