Quinte West OPP – Suspended Motorist Charged with Impaired Driving (Name Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with both suspended and impaired driving following a traffic stop.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Front Street, Trenton.

During the investigation, a suspended driver was arrested for being impaired. The driver was subsequently transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC), the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Ryan LINDSAY, 23 years old, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine

Driving while under suspension x2

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 31, 2025. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
