Motor Vehicle Collision – Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street

A motorcyclist was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre after a collision at Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street Friday evening.

The collision between the motorcycle and the truck happened at about 8:00pm and the road was closed for about an hour.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.

 

Assault Suspects Sought

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 3:45am on June 7, 2025, officers were called to Del Crary Park. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 62-year-old man had been sleeping on a bench when two younger men woke him up and a physical altercation took place. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of his injuries.

The suspects were described to police as:

Suspect #1:

  • White male,
  • 18 to 20 years
  • Slim build
  • Short hair
  • No shirt on at time of incident
  • Riding a bicycle

Suspect #2:

  • White male
  • 18 to 20 years
  • Slim build
  • Short spikey hair
  • Dark shirt
  • Riding a bicycle

Theft Arrest

A 36-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after two theft incidents last week.

At approximately 5:30pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025, officers received a call to a business in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area about a theft in progress. Upon arrival, they learned that the suspect had left the store.  Officers located a woman matching the description given to police several blocks away.  A number of the products were returned to the store.  Officers further learned about a similar incident from the previous day, Friday, June 6, 2025.

As a result of the investigation into the two incidents, a 36-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 X2
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order X2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X2

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on June 8, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 39-year-old Ajax man wanted on a warrant for an intimate partner violence incident in April was arrested over the weekend.

At approximately 7:50am on Sunday, June 8, 2025, officers were called about a suspicious vehicle in the middle of road in the Middlefield Road and Otonabee Drive area.  While officers were investigating, the driver of the vehicle returned to the scene.  It was learned that there was a warrant out for the driver for assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle and theft under $5000 in connection with an incident at the end of April 2025.

As a result, a 39-year-old Ajax man was arrested on the strength of the warrant.  He was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on June 8, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 63-year-old Kendal, Ontario man is facing impaired charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:30pm on June 8, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Lansdowne Street West and Brealey Drive area about a customer that was possibly impaired.  Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.  In speaking with the man, officers noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 63-year-old Kendal, Ontario man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 22, 2025.
