A Northumberland County man who is on the front lines of the war in Ukraine for the forth time has a message for President Donald Trump.
Forty-five-year-old James Challice was on the front lines in 2022 just weeks after the war started after Russia invaded Ukraine.
He has been on the front line fighting alongside Ukraine soldiers.
Challice left Cobourg on February 3, 2025 to join other soldiers once again.
He hopes the message (below) will reach President Trump.
My Message to Trump
I have been in Ukraine since the start of the invasion.
I have seen first hand on what the Russian aggression can do to a human being.
I have lost many Ukrainian brothers as well as American, Canadian and British brothers in battle for the freedom of Ukraine and thoughts of DEMOCRACY.
This is a word trump needs to understand.
Throughout history we have sacrificed human beings to ensure other countries, cultures, and civilizations that there is a better way of life with peace and prosperity.
When the world is threatened by evil, we have always stood together to defeat it.
The world has always been in conflict since the dawn of age. GOOD VS EVIL.
So why do you side with EVIL now?
Putin throughout history as a leader, has only brought death and destruction to anyone and anything that is in his way.
I was born into DEMOCRACY and the western culture.
True patriots of DEMOCRACY would give their shirt off ther back to a friend in need.
I would suffer to know my children would have a future with peace and prosperity.
We are at a time where DEMOCRACY needs a true leader.
Not a leader who looks to rewrite DEMOCRACY.
Maybe there is another agenda I am unaware of.
Maybe trump will overturn the Putin regime with deception from his words.
All I know is, if you stand alone you will lose the faith and hope of all of your allies and Putin and his destruction will never stop.
We’re not here for fortune, fame, or even a thank you.
We are here for the freedom of a nation and for the name of DEMOCRACY.
Time to drop the pen, come together and defeat this evil before the destruction is to vast it will be at your door.
It will be defeated on way or another.
Time to rise and remember the words FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY
