Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Mischief, Impaired, Warrant Arrest (No Names Released)

Mischief Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a disturbance at a Peterborough business Friday.

At approximately 1:30pm on February 7, 2025, officers were called the business in the Bethune Street and Charlotte Street area about a man causing a disturbance, pulling the fire alarm and pulling a thermostat from the wall. Through investigation a suspect was identified and officers with Community FIRST were able to locate the man a short distance away and take him into custody.

As a result, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Mischief Under $ 5,000
Fail to Comply with Probation Order X3
The accused is currently bound by three probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 18, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday night.

At approximately 8:00pm on February 7, 2025, officers were called to a single vehicle collision at West Bank Drive and Nassau Mills Road. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and noticed signs of impairment. No one was injured in the collision.

As a result, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court March 18, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 20-year-old man wanted on warrants in two other jurisdictions was arrested in Peterborough Sunday.

At approximately 1:30pm on February 9, 2025, officers were called to a Peterborough residence about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the people involved and while there were no criminal charges in that incident it was learned that male had given police a false name and was wanted on warrants on several charges including assault, uttering threats, and failing to comply with a release order.

As a result, a 20-year-old man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

Obstruct Peace Officer (providing a false name)
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following condition: to remain in your residence at all times.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 10, 2025.
