Cobourg Police – Cobourg man Charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats

A 54-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a disturbance Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in a residence in the Town of Cobourg.

Through the investigation, police learned that during a dispute, a man pushed his partner onto her bed while he was holding a large knife, resulting in a cut to her finger. He then threatened to harm her. The woman sustained minor injuries.

As a result, a 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault with a Weapon – Spousal and Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm – Spousal.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
