Video – Week of Wild and Whacky Weather Throughout the Area

(check out the photo gallery of images throughout the week)

It was a week that just about had every kind of weather in Northumberland County.

From heavy fog earlier on in the week that made it impossible at times to see across Rice Lake, to the bright colours of Christmas lights reflecting off the fog in Rotary Harbourfront Park.

High winds and freezing rain descended on the area in the following days.

Numerous collisions involving vehicles in the ditch, but there were no serious injuries.

With the high winds on Lake Ontario bashing against the breakwalls, hundreds of waterfowl hunkered down in the basin.

One person took advantage of the high winds to surf on his hydrofoil.

Walking out to lighthouse and entering the choppy waters, then surfing in to shore.
