Golf Course Located on CFB Trenton Property Will Cease Operations

In National

The Roundel Glen Golf Course, located on the north side of the 8 Wing/CFB Trenton base, will cease operations at the end of the 2024 season due to the impending infrastructure work at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton to support the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability (STTC) project. The STTC project requires additional infrastructure at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton to house and support the CC-330 Husky fleet which includes a two-bay hangar along with an upgraded apron, runway, and taxiways. The site location selected for the Hangar and additional apron is on a portion of land currently occupied by the golf course. Site preparation for the construction of the STTC Hangar is scheduled to commence in early 2025.

Golf course operations will continue as normal until the end of the regular 2024 season. No green fees or memberships will be sold for the 2025 season. We thank members of the Quinte community and 8 Wing for their years of commitment to the Roundel Glen Golf Course.

Quick Facts
The Department of National Defence is investing $850 million to upgrade CFB Trenton to host Canada’s new fleet of CC-330 Husky Strategic Tanker Transport Aircraft. This $850 million investment will fund major airfield and infrastructure work at Trenton, including the development and design of a two-bay hangar, an upgraded apron and runway, taxiways, and other supporting infrastructure. These upgrades will enable CFB Trenton to serve as the Eastern Main Operating Base for the new CC-330 Husky fleet.

The RCAF’s new CC-330 Husky flight will be comprised of nine aircraft and will conduct multiple tasks such as in-flight refuelling of other aircraft, military personnel and cargo airlift, medical evacuations, and strategic transport of Government of Canada officials.
